Guido Dwersteg
SBF-SEE, SSS, SRC, RYA-Yachtmaster-Offshore

Guido is certainly well known to most sailors. He started sailing quite late, but got straight into it. After a short learning period, he did his big Atlantic tour from 2012-2014 with his ‘Carpe Diem’, a Bavaria 32 Holyday, followed by his Scandinavian tour ‘Around the Tiger’ in 2017, also with his CARPE DIEM. Guido will mainly be skippering our northern tours on the Garcia Exploration from 2020.

Uwe Heißel
SBF-SEE, SHS, SRC, LRC, RYA-Yachtmaster Offshore

Uwe has been sailing for around 40 years on a wide variety of sailing boats and yachts. From the 470 dinghy to various trimarans and catamarans to our 52ft expedition yacht, everything is included.
Over the course of time, we have clocked up over 26,000 nautical miles.
Specials: Speedsailing on our trimaran ‘MIZAR’, navigation (classic and electronic), technology on board, sailing and diving.
Qualifications: SBF-See, SHS, SRC, RYA-Yachtmaster Offshore. Uwe will organise sailing trips and training on all our yachts.

Nils-Peter Hey
SHS, LRC, RYA Cruising Instructor, RYA Navigation Instructor

Nils came to offshore sailing relatively late, after many years as a skipper with the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief.

In the meantime, he has completed a good 15,000 nautical miles, crossed the Atlantic twice and completed his sailing training with the German SHS and Yachtmaster Offshore. He is an expert on the Canary Islands and feels really comfortable in the ‘nozzle’ when well reefed and with a good Atlantic wave. He is currently undergoing further training to become an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and is in the completion phase of the Royal Yachtmaster Ocean.

Simon Eder
SBF-SEE, SHS, , RYA-Yachtmaster-Offshore, SRC, LRC

From 0 to 100, that’s how you could describe Simon’s sailing career. Since a trip around the world almost 30 years ago, when he sailed in the Whitsunday Islands in Australia, he has never let go. Since his SKS exam in November 2019, he has sailed more than 10,000 nautical miles, crossed the Atlantic, obtained all German marine radio licences and confirmed his experience with the SHS qualification. In 2022, he also gained further qualifications as part of a World Sailing Safety Training course. In 2024, he successfully completed the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore training. His knowledge as a toolmaker and mechanical engineer benefited him just as much as his training as a PADI diving instructor, where he learnt a lot about conveying the fun of the sport as well as the technical content. He enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with others and introducing newcomers to sailing.

Axel Hachenberger
SBF-SEE, SRC, RYA-Yachtmaster Ocean

Axel started sailing relatively late in 2003, but then went straight into the full swing of things. In addition to the SKS, he soon completed the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification and then the YM Ocean.
From 2011 to 2021, Axel ran his own GibSea 52.2 yacht charter in Turkey and Greece. He therefore has more than 20,000 nautical miles of experience.

Yannick Kethers
SBF-See, SHS, SRC, RYA-Yachtmaster Offshore

Yannick started sailing as a child on an Opti and his uncle’s catamaran. Over the years, he developed a great enthusiasm for cruising and a special interest in seamanship, navigation and meteorology. After obtaining the SBF-Binnen and SBF-See, he went on to obtain the SKS, RYA-Yachtmaster Coastal, SRC, SSS and finally the SHS and RYA-Yachtmaster Offshore due to his desire to pursue sailing professionally. Yannick will be organising sailing trips on the Polaris.

Kay Brokop
SBF-SEE, SHS, SRC

Kay has been sailing since his youth. It started with a dinghy built by his parents and continued with chartered BM dinghies to a Neptun 17.
Since then he has been an enthusiastic water sportsman and the subject of sailing and the associated technology has never let go of him.
After the SBF-Binnen and A licence, Kay came to yacht sailing via the SBF-See and SKS.
Committed and eager to learn, he expanded his knowledge of all topics, so that further licences followed with SSS, SHS and SRC.
On-board technology, radar and weather were deepened and
At some point, racing sailing was also added.
